Cleaning old flagstones my first task was removing the medley of muck and dirt left over from the building works from the flagstone tiles. When you have to clean with soap make sure it is a neutral cleaner with a ph of about 7. Dilute detergent with water in a ratio of 1 5 and apply generously with a sponge. Clean your flagstone mix together equal parts white vinegar and warm water. Slate tile floors can be cleaned with a mixture of warm water and mild detergent such as dish soap.
